“Imagine you are a young child and wake up one night to find your bedroom full of smoke. Your house is on fire! What would you do? To help your child learn what to do, we will be teaching burn prevention and fire safety in class.
The Fire Safety House is a place that teaches children burn prevention and fire safety in a fun and safe way. The Fire Safety House is equipped with a kitchen, bedroom and living room. It fills with a non-toxic, water-based smoke to teach children to “crawl low” to safety. A heated door helps children choose the right exit. An escape ladder is used to exit from the bedroom.” ~ Jackson Fire Department
NOTE: If your child suffers from asthma, other respiratory conditions or allergies that may be irritated by the non-toxic smoke, please let me know before allowing him/her to tour the Fire Safety House. Also, indicate if your child has Epilepsy or seizures caused by flashing lights. A completed permission slip must be received for each child attending the field trip. Forms will be provided once your reservation is confirmed.
