Memphis’s own New Ballet Ensemble is nationally known for their unique hybrid dance creations, stirring up classical ballet, contemporary dance, tap, hip-hop, flamenco and Memphis Jookin’ into captivating theatrical productions that delight all ages. This year’s Springloaded production features Petrushka Remix, a reinvention of the ballet classic set on Beale Street, along with exciting new pieces in a variety of styles. Reviewing a performance at the Kennedy Center, the Washington Post’s Robert Battey wrote “the dancers shimmied, levitated and jolted their way through eye-popping solos and ensemble work, bringing a cheering crowd to its feet.” ~ GPAC
