We will kick-off the morning with a tour of the interactive Fire Museum of Memphis. Some of the activities include learning about the history of fire fighting in Memphis, a fire safety workshop and also getting to experience simulated hands-on fire fighting. Fight flames in the Snorkel Basket Simulator, test your sense on finding an escape route from a fire and become familiar with fire hazards in the Fire Safety House. You will also see memorabilia that includes the E.H. Crump Steamer (Memphis’ first horse-driven steam fire engine), video kiosks which give “historical and descriptive information about Memphis“, the Memphis Fire Department, the Fire Museum of Memphis, the history of Memphis’ first African-American firefighters and so much more. See all of the exhibits.

The Memphis Fire Dogs will visit with us. Patricia Belt and her “girls” are always a lot of fun and children cannot resist the love and kindness these dogs share.
