Did you grow up dreaming of that very special day, your wedding day, and the dress you would wear? I must admit, I never thought much about it, but I did enjoy making dresses; any kind of dresses. The Oaklands Mansion presents “Wedding Dresses through the Decades” from brocades and silks of the mid-1800s to suits worn by wartime brides of the 1940s. Gowns and attire included in this show are ones worn by many from middle Tennessee and across the country. Whether you are a future bride, love the art of fashion design or just enjoy looking at really pretty and unique dresses, this will be an educational walk (down the aisle 😉 ) through history. See more pictures from the exhibit and the people who wore the dresses.
Hopefully, the weather will be nice by the field trip days and we will be able to tour the garden.
