Are you ready for summer? Okay, how about spring? One day I will learn to appreciate all of the seasons, even the cold ones. Baseball season is right around the corner after basketball, volleyball and…well, baseball is coming and Homeschool Roster is going to the Jackson Generals 2017 Education Days. You do not have to be a fan of baseball to enjoy these education days. There is something all-American about sitting in the stands watching a baseball ball game. I love the community and you can go and support the home team, the Jackson Generals. It’s about as big league as you are going to get in West Tennessee. Along with the game, students will enjoy Schoolin with Sarge, the Jackson K-9 unit and an Air-Evac helicopter. You may attend one, two or all of the games for a fun day at the park. Remember to wear sunscreen.

Schedule: Meet at The Ballpark at Jackson at 10:30 a.m. to check-in with the event leader and get settled. The game begins at 11:05 a.m. or 12:05 p.m. (May 17).

Note: No outside food or drinks are allowed in the ballpark. There is an option to purchase a lunch pack for $6 that includes a hotdog, chips and a drink. The concession stands will be open, but the lunch pack is the best deal for your time (there are very, very, very long concession lines) and money. You will have in/out privileges if you prefer to bring your own lunch and eat it in your car or outside of the stadium.

Reservation deadline: Reservations will be accepted through Friday, March 31, 2017 for the April 10 game; Tuesday, April 11 for the April 19 game; and Friday, April 21 for the May 1 game; Tuesday, May 2, for the May 10 game and Tuesday, May 9, for the May 17 game. Once the spaces fill, reservations will close. To make a reservation, click here to e-mail Homeschool Roster your request. Please include the date(s) you would like to attend, the number of children and adults that will be attending and the number of lunch packs. You will receive an e-mail response confirming receipt of your reservation. No refunds (for lunches) will be issued after reservation deadlines according to the dates shown above. You will receive an e-mail response the following weekend confirming receipt of your reservation.

Homeschool Roster has made special arrangements for us to attend as a group. The field trip is open to those currently or considering homeschooling and their families. Please feel free to share the event with other homeschoolers.
