Field Trip: Meet Me in St. Louis (Southaven)

Synopsis: “The well-off Smith family has four beautiful daughters. Seventeen-year-old Esther has fallen in love with John, who has just moved in next door. He however, barely notices her at first. The family is shocked when Mr. Smith reveals he has been transferred to a nice position in New York, which means the family has to leave St. Louis and the 1903 St. Louis Fair.”
Next to The Sound of Music, Meet Me in St. Louis is one of my all-time favorite musicals. There are others, but I have seen both movies more times than I can count. The Desoto Family Theatre’s (DFT) production of Meet Me in St. Louis will be the first time I have ever seen the story on stage. I had the pleasure, several years ago, to see DFT’s production of The Sound of Music and it was marvelous! DFT is community theatre and there is a lot of talent in Southaven. I am trusting this production will rise to the occasion and not disappoint. Just a note, if you have not seen the Meet Me in St. Louis movie, definitely put it on your Christmas movie list!

Schedule: Meet at the Landers Center at 8:30 a.m. for the 9 a.m. performance and at 11 a.m. for the 11:30 a.m. performance.
Reservation deadline: Reservations will be accepted through Tuesday, November 29, 2016 for the December 6 performance and through Tuesday, December 6, 2016 for the Decenber 14 perfromance. Once the spaces fill, reservations will close. To make a reservation, click here to e-mail Homeschool Roster your request. Please include the number of children and adults that will attend as well as the date of the field trip and time. You will receive an e-mail response the following weekend confirming receipt of your reservation. No refunds will be issued after Tuesday, November 22, 2016.
