DESCRIPTION:EVENT DETAILS\nJackson Energy Authority (JEA) has got the power and it offers it to more than 40\,000 resident\, business\, and industry customers it serves daily in the Jackson and Madison County areas. JEA not only provides electricity\, but also gas\, propane\, water\, wastewater and broadband services. We will go into the JEA bunker (the brain and system of JEA) and see where and how it all happens. This is always an interesting and informative field trip. The Discovering Your Destiny (DYD) experiences were created\, so your teen can plan for their future/life after high school. They will learn about post-secondary opportunities\, careers that are open to them as well as non-traditional paths. \nChoate Engineering Performance (Automotive) specializes in fixing problems\, specifically with diesel engines. Whether you drive a 5.9/6.7 Cummins a Ford Powerstroke Diesel or a Isuzu/GM Duramax 6.6 pickup truck. We know the problems and have the solutions! Not only do we reman diesel engines for the Ford\, Dodge Ram\, and Chevy/GM owners. But we also design\, engineer\, and machine these fixes in house. We will get up close and see how Choate services engines. While touring Choate Engineering Performance\, students (teenager girls and boys) will learn about the industry as well as careers at Choate. \nSUGGESTED AGE/GRADE\nThe suggested age/grade is high school students\, and adults. Along with learning about their baking process\, we will tour the store and visit the petting zoo. You can also stay after the tour and purchase lunch and dine inside the store or outside on the patio. Yeah\, I dare you to not buy any of their baked goods. The cinnamon rolls and chocolate chip cookies are already on my shopping list. And\, let’s not talk about the breads. Even if you have toured Bäckermann’s\, another visit is overdue (I shop there at least once a week).
