We will tour the museum\, learn about the event\, and the many lives\, which were lost and the legacy left behind. \nSUGGESTED AGE/GRADE\nThe suggested age/grade is kindergarten through high school students\, and adults. \n\nDATE & TIME\n\nFriday\, February 7\, 2025\, at 11 a.m. \nLOCATION\nSultana Disaster Museum – Marion\, Arkansas \nPRICE\nAdult – $0\nStudent – $0\nChild – $0 \nNOTES\nSuggested reading before the field trip to learn more about the event include The River Between Us (fifth grade)\, Crossing the Deadline (fifth and sixth grade)\, When Hope Sank (high school)\, and other readings. Students may also read the stories of the passengers. \nPARKING\nParking is free at the Sultana Disaster Museum. \nREGISTRATION DEADLINE\nRegistration will remain open through Thursday\, October 3\, 2024\, at 12 p.m. CST or until spaces fill. Students accustomed to reading the play will now experience it through its intended medium of live theatre. See\, hear\, and feel this visceral production from TSC\, with a frantic hard-hitting pace that reflects the hasty and tragic encounter of two star-crossed lovers. A timeless tale\, this Shakespearean tragedy confronts the culture of violence and demands that its operators be held accountable\, allowing an opportunity for real change in the wake of a glooming peace. Students will gain new perspectives\, form a deeper understanding of the characters’ motives\, and rightfully question the actions of all involved.\n\nCast talkback follows.\n\nSUGGESTED AGE/GRADE\nThe suggested age/grade is mid-elementary school through high school students\, and adults. \nDATES & TIMES\nWednesday\, February 12\, 2025\, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. (limited space)\nThursday\, February 13\, 2025\, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. \nLOCATION\nTennessee Shakespeare Company (TSC) – Cordova \nPRICE\nAdult – $10\nStudent – $10\nChild – $10 \nNOTES\nAll people entering the theatre must have a purchased ticket\, and children must be five years or older to attend. DESCRIPTION:EVENT DETAILS\nHas your high school student made a decision about college or their future? The Discovering Your Destiny (DYD) experiences were created\, so your teen can plan for their future/life after high school. They will learn about post-secondary opportunities\, careers that are open to them as well as non-traditional paths. \nD.A.Y. Cosmetology sees a high number of home school students come through its doors to begin careers in cosmetology\, esthetics\, and nails. All three programs are available at the school. There are three campuses in West Tennessee and students may begin as early as age 16. We will tour the Jackson campus\, visit classes\, meet students\, and learn about the school and careers in the fields. \nSUGGESTED AGE/GRADE\nThe suggested age/grade is high school students\, and adults.
