SUMMARY:Discovering Your Own Destiny: TCAT - Jackson
DESCRIPTION:EVENT DETAILS\nHas your high school student made a decision about college or their future? The Discovering Your Destiny (DYD) experiences were created\, so your teen can plan for their future/life after high school. They will learn about post-secondary opportunities\, careers that are open to them as well as non-traditional paths. \nWe will tour the campus of the Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT)\, Jackson campus. There are 27 colleges of applied technology in Tennessee where your high school student may choose to attend. Our visit to the Jackson campus will give you an idea of the different certificate programs offered through the schools. There are 16 at the Jackson campus. All TCAT colleges are TN Promise participants\, so this is a great opportunity for your child and you to learn about what the TCAT colleges offer. Careers in a trade field are wide open with a 90 percent job placement rate\, excellent salaries and no student loan debt at graduation. ~ Homeschool Roster \nSUGGESTED AGE/GRADE\nThe suggested age/grade is high school students\, and adults. SUMMARY:FIELD TRIP: Tennessee Safari Park
DESCRIPTION:EVENT DETAILS\nLions and tigers and bears\, oh my . . . well\, maybe not\, but Miniature Zebu\, Scarlet Macaw and White Bearded Wildebeast. Regardless\, it’s a safari out there and we will be right there in the midst of it all. After living in Tennessee as long as I have\, it has taken me this long to finally visit the Tennessee Safari Park. If you join us\, you will get to go on a guided safari bus ride through the park\, feed the animals and walk through another park area to see even more zoo animals. After the bus ride\, you may drive your vehicle through to see additional tour area where more safari animals live. It’s wild\, I know.\n\nA neat bit of history: The Tennessee Safari Park is located on a century farm owned by the Conley Family since 1858\, called Hillcrest.\nSUGGESTED AGE/GRADE\nThe suggested age/grade is preschool through high school students\, and adults. \n\n\nDATES & TIMES\nFriday\, September 25\, 2026\, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. \nLOCATION\nTennessee Safari Park – 618 Conley Road\, Alamo\, 38001 \nPRICE\nAdult (parent/teacher) – $0 – One parent/teacher is permitted to accompany their child(ren) at no charge. Any additional adult must pay the full price.\nAdult – $16\nStudent – $12\nChild – $12 (age two through high school) \nFood Buckets – $3 each (food will be provided on the bus\, but you may purchase more to use on the bus in case it runs out for the group or for after the tour bus\, if you drive through in your vehicle) \n  \nNOTES\nFood buckets are provided on the tour bus. If you plan to drive through in your vehicle after the tour\, you may want to purchase a food bucket. \nPARKING\nParking is free at the Tennessee Safari Park. \nREGISTRATION DEADLINE\nRegistration will remain open through Thursday\, September 10\, 2026\, at 12 p.m. CST or until spaces fill.
