SCHOLARSHIP: Tom Salem Memorial Scholarship

DESCRIPTION: The scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student in order to promote continuing education in the atmospheric sciences and/or meteorology and to provide encouragement to that student in his or her pursuit of a degree in atmospheric sciences.

AWARD: The award is $750 and will be given to a student who is a high school senior or pursuing a post-secondary education for the 2023-2024 academic year.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Applicant’s home residence must be in the area served by the Memphis Chapter of the AMS/NWA (generally a 125-mile radius around Memphis, Tennessee) and expect to be enrolled in multiple classes in the upcoming school year (i.e., award not to be used for an individual correspondence course).

ACT OR SAT: Yes.

GPA BASED: Yes.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: Monday, May 1, 2023.
