Leadership University 2025/2026 Application Now Open

The Greater Jackson Chamber has opened the application for its 2025/2026 Leadership University (LU) , a leadership development program for high school juniors in Jackson-Madison County. The program has offered opportunities to public, private, and homeschooled students in honing their leadership skills since it was created in 1999. Home school student Lydia Rice was one of 40 students in the Class of 2024/2025.
The program begins July 2025 with an opening retreat and concludes April 2026 with a graduation. During the program, students meet monthly to participate in engaging sessions covering a wide range of topics. Each session includes a leadership skill-building component, which equips the students with essential tools for their leadership journey. Students will engage with representatives from various sectors, including economic development, education and government, health care, and criminal justice, who will share insights into the current state, challenges, and future vision within their respective areas.
The Leadership University application must be submitted online by Saturday, March 15, 2025. The application process includes an interview by Leadership University Board of Directors Committee. Acceptance letters will be e-mailed in May.
