Pinecrest Camp and Retreat Center Offering Field School
Pinecrest Camp and Retreat Center in Moscow, Tennessee holds monthly Field School for Homeschool programs for students, third through fifth grades. Each program has an educational focus and students may choose to attend one or all of the them.
Field School for Homeschool will be held on Tuesdays, October 15, November 26, and December 10, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
October 15: Happy Doodle Day! – We’ll celebrate the day that Doodle the Friendly Noodle, our official education corn snake, came to live with us at Pinecrest. Celebrate with “snakerdoodle” cookies, a snake craft, snake trivia, a herpetology walk, and silly games! We’re joining up with Little Explorers to have one big party! Want to bring a gift? Doodle loves the “small rats” from the freezer at the pet store.
November 26: Orienteering – Learn the sport of orienteering using a compass and bearings. Complete the big course and we’ll up the challenges!
December 10: Exploring Evergreens – Explore the forest and learn about the variety of plants that keep their chlorophyll kicking. Journals will be filled with greenery and we’ll finish with a winter decoration craft.
Admission is $10 per participant with one adult free per family, and $5 each for additional guests. Registration required and a minimum of three students is needed to hold the school. Students are asked to bring a field journal for the program. E-mail Charity Siebert with any questions and to register.
All proceeds benefit the environmental education mission of Pinecrest Camp and Retreat Center.
