Tennessee Tech Opens Fall 2026 Admissions, Waives Application Fees

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – High school students and lifelong learners looking for a nationally ranked university experience can now apply to Tennessee Tech University for the fall 2026 semester. Students who apply before August 15, 2025, will also receive a waived application fee, a $25 savings.
“Even as we eagerly anticipate the arrival of another large freshman class this fall, we’re already making plans for 2026. We want to encourage prospective students to apply to Tennessee Tech early so they can take advantage of the savings and get a jumpstart on the admissions process,” said Jacob Cutshall, director of admissions at Tech.
The start of fall 2026 applications comes as Tech is celebrating a series of high-profile wins and recognition. The university recently announced an all-time record for externally funded research, was recognized by the Tennessee Higher Education Commission for maintaining some of the highest freshmen retention rates and on-time graduation rates in the state and was rated as the number one public university in Tennessee by Money.com.
As students and parents weigh their higher education options, Tech also continues to make college affordable. Roughly half of Tech students graduate debt-free, thanks in part to the university’s Presidential Scholars program, which offers guaranteed scholarships ranging in value from $3,000 to $10,000 per year to students meeting minimum grade point average and standardized test score requirements. Students must apply for admission by December 15, 2025, for Presidential Scholars eligibility and submit qualifying transcripts and test scores by January 15, 2026.
“We want every prospective student to know there is a place for them on Tech’s campus,” added Mr. Cutshall. “A student experience at Tennessee Tech offers the whole package: world-class academic programs in more than 225 fields of study, a caring community of faculty and staff committed to student success, a comparatively lower tuition cost and a vibrant campus life in a safe and affordable college town. We can’t wait to welcome students in fall 2026 and show them what life as a Golden Eagle is all about.”
Prospective students can schedule a VIP campus visit with a Tech Trailblazer – current students who provide personalized, one-on-one tours to guests and their families.
