Audition Notice: The Little Shop of Horrors (Non-Musical)

Star Inc. is holding auditions for The Little Shop of Horrors (Non-Musical) . Cast includes older teens and adults.
PRODUCTION: The Little Shop of Horrors (Non-Musical)
SYNOPSIS: “Little Shop of Horrors” is a dark comedy which tells the story of Seymour Krelborn, a nerdy flower shop clerk who cannot do anything right to please his overbearing employer, Gravis Mushnick. After a series of costly mistakes, Seymour is on the verge of being fired but manages to save his job when he delivers a one-of-a-kind plant to Mr. Mushnick. Almost immediately, business picks up in the flower shop, and Seymour receives praise from Mr. Mushnick and the attention of the beautiful Audrey Fulquard. However, unbeknownst to anyone, this plant only has an appetite for blood to survive. After several people “go missing” from the neighborhood, the police suspect that seemingly harmless Seymour has nefarious intentions to gain the respect of his employer and the affections of his coworker.”
AUDITION DATES AND TIMES: Saturday, August 3, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. and Sunday, August 4, 2024, at 2:30 p.m.
CALLBACKS: TBD
LOCATION: Fair Theater, 116 East Market Street, Somerville, 38068
CAST: Older teens and adults
AUDITION: Auditions will be cold readings, so you will not have to be prepared in advance. Come with a good attitude and energy. However, if you have not worked with Mr. Demmons before in a previous Star Inc. production, please bring a headshot. The cast consists of mostly adults and older teens, so unfortunately, there are only one or two roles for children and younger teens.
If you have a desire to be in theater but do not want to act, there is plenty to do behind the stage. We are always looking for stagehands, stage managers, and other production assistants.
PRODUCTION DATES: Thursday through Saturday, October 24 – 27, 2024, at 7 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, October 26 -27, 2024, at 2:30 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday, November 2 – 3, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. only if performances need to be rescheduled because of cancelation.
