The Discovering Your Own Destiny (DYOD) experiences were created, so your teen can plan for their future/life after high school graduation. They will learn about post-secondary opportunities, careers that are open to them as well as non-traditional paths.

Discovering Your Own Destiny: TCAT – Jackson
We will tour the campus of the Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT), Jackson campus. Careers in a trade field are wide open with a 90 percent job placement rate, excellent salaries and no student loan debt at graduation. ~ Homeschool Roster {REGISTER TO ATTEND}

Discovering Your Own Destiny: D.A.Y. College of Cosmetology
D.A.Y. Cosmetology sees a high number of home school students come through its doors to begin careers in cosmetology, esthetics, and nails. All three programs are available at the school. There are three campuses in West Tennessee and students may begin as early as age 16. We will tour the Jackson campus, visit classes, meet students, and learn about the school and careers in the fields. {REGISTER TO ATTEND}

If you have a student with a culinary flair or a love of food, this tour of the University of Memphis Culinary Institute may be a great step in helping them decide their future. We will tour the department, meet faculty, and learn more about the offered degrees and what your student needs to consider when going into the field.

The healthcare profession offers a variety of career options for people who have a heart for helping others. We will visit West Tennessee Healthcare and learn about how the not-for-profit healthcare system serves the community and some of the careers your student may already have an interest in and ones they may not even know exist, which may interest them to pursue.

Attention to mental health has brought to the forefront the need and importance of continued services and care offered to patients. We will visit the West Tennessee Healthcare mental health services department and learn about strides in better serving people in need of mental healthcare as well as careers in the area. which a student may want to pursue and can make a difference.
