Bolivar City Councilman Chris Williams Announced as Homeschool Graduation 2024 Commencement Speaker
Homeschool Roster is pleased to announce Bolivar City Councilman Chris Williams will be the commencement speaker for the Homeschool Graduation 2024. The ceremony, recognizing home school graduates in West Tennessee, will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024.
He works with the Memphis Police Department in the Public Information Office under Executive Administration, has more than 11 years experience in law enforcement and city government, and owns and operates Southern Express Pharmacy in Bolivar, Tennessee with his wife, Ashley.
In his position as a city council member and in law enforcement, his focus has been working together and building relationships with people in the community. Mr. Williams also understands the importance of giving back to his community, especially with youth and has done so in several instances that include volunteering as a mentor, creating an academic scholarship, and supporting youth as future business professionals.
Mr. Williams is a 2009 graduate of McNairy Central High School. He completed the Basic Law Enforcement Training Academy in 2013; Memphis Police Academy in 2018; has been on the Memphis Police Department-Chief of Police Advisory Board since 2020; and received an FBI (LEEDA)-Law Enforcement Executive Development Association-Public and Media Relations Certification in 2022. He received his Master Public Information Officer Certification from the University of Tennessee in 2024 and is currently attending Bethel University pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice.
Mr. Williams’ ongoing dedication to public service, experience in law enforcement, and desire to encourage youth to succeed make him an inspiring choice as the keynote speaker for the Homeschool Graduation 2024.
