Celebrate Your Decision to Homeschool During National School Choice Week

National School Choice Week (NSCW) has been celebrated across the country since 2011 bringing awareness to the number of education options available to parents and their kindergarten through twelfth grade children. This year, the annual event will be held Sunday, January 21 – 27, 2024, and homeschool is one of the options being highlighted.

Along with homeschool, other school choice options being promoted are microschools, public magnet schools, online learning, private schools, public charter schools and traditional public schools. None of the options are being promoted as being better than the other. What is being shared and celebrated is the fact parents have several education options from which to choose that best works for their child and their family.

During the NSCW, the goal is to raise awareness of the continued need for choices in education options in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. In 2023, NSCW was integral in the planning and promotion of more than 26,000 community activities and events with schools and homeschool organizations to meet that goal.
