University of Memphis Engineering to Hold eDay 2024

Students of all ages participate in the annual University of Memphis eDay event that has been held since 2017.

The Herff College of Engineering is in preparation for eDay 2024, an event designed to encourage interest in engineering and STEM-related programs. Students in elementary school through high school will learn about different areas of engineering that include Civil, Electrical and Computer, Engineering Technology, and Mechanical through demonstrations and competitions.

“We want to help educate and encourage interest students about participating in engineering and engineering related programs. Engineering affects everyone, every day in every way, constantly looking to improve the world around us,” said Kimberly L. Rogers, Herff College of Engineering Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications. “Engineers impact the world in a wealth of ways including healthcare and medical device improvements, clean drinking water, electric vehicle creation and improvements, technology innovation, electricity generation/ smart grid technologies, earthquake-safe structures, transportation and logistics, additive manufacturing, tissue regeneration and much more.”

Schools and student groups may form teams and register participate in the competitions. Demonstrations will be done as well as tours will be given of the engineering department.

Herff College of Engineering eDay 2024 will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Herff Engineering Complex (3817 Central Avenue, Memphis, 38111). Register now to attend.
