Classic Learning Test (CLT) Adds Two New Partner Schools

The Classic Learning Test (CLT) has welcomed Pepperdine University and Boise Bible College to its growing list of already more than 280 colleges and universities, which accepts CLT scores. Since it was first introduced in 2015 by the Classic Learning Initiatives as an alternative test to the well-known ACT and SAT standardized college entrance exams, the CLT continues to grow in acceptance by schools across the country.

The CLT is a literature/based exam. Although the word “classic” is in its title, a student does not require a classical education background to take the test or earn a high score. The CLT is offered as a general standardized test option for students in the third through twelfth grades. With the CLT 3-8, parents are able to gain a better understanding of their child’s academic progress through the diagnostic and comprehensive exams. Parents seeking an annual testing option for their student often choose this option. The CLT10 is a college preparatory exam for grades 9 and 10, and comparable to the PSAT. The CLT is for grades 11 and 12, and comparable to the ACT and SAT.

There are several colleges and universities in Tennessee, which accept CLT scores. Some of those schools are Aquinas College, Belmont University, Bryan College, Carson Newman University, The Crown College, Freed Hardeman University, Lipscomb University, and Union University. You may see the full list of CLT partner schools.

Students taking the CLT may also use their scores for scholarship application for Florida Bright Futures as well as several offered through partner schools.

A student may take practice tests to learn more about the official exam and better prepare for test day. In-person and remote proctored testing options are available.
