Local Non-Profit Offers Opportunity for Teens to Bring Film Vision to Life

Indie Memphis will award one student, in grades seventh through twelfth, an Indie Memphis Youth Film Production Grant that provides professional filmmaking services to direct a one-day short film shoot. The support and crew behind the scenes for the student’s shoot will be filled by professionals in those fields.
On the day of the shoot, the student director can focus on their vision for their project and will work with “a team of professional crew members that are excited to bring your film to life“. The equipment. cameras, lenses, lights, dollies, and more, as well as craft services, meals and snacks, for the cast and crew will be provided. Management of the shoot, scheduling, budgeting, location services, and more are also covered by the grant.
Students interested in applying for the grant will need to complete an application, and submit an original script with four characters or less and all in one central location, and no more than five pages long. Since the grant only covers one day of shooting, applicants are encouraged to present developed, but short stories, so filming can be completed in one day with the story being told.
The Indie Memphis Youth Film Production Grant application closes on Sunday, July 28, 2024.
