NCAA Sports Home School Webinar for Athletes

The National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) held a webinar for homeschooled college-bound student athletes on Wednesday, December 11, 2024. The webinar provided an opportunity for students and their parents to learn the requirements for athletes, who want to continue playing their favorite sport during their collegiate years.
Playing competitive sports is often a determining factor for families considering home school. Many do not pursue home school, because of their lack of awareness of athletic opportunities at the high school level where students often hone their skills in a sport and receive scholarships. Home school high school students are able to participate in recreation sports, private sports organizations, home school leagues, and even Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) sports at their zoned public school.
Home school students are eligible to play collegiate level sports and even earn athletic scholarships. The NCAA webinar walks you through the process to get your athlete to the point of eligibility.
If you have a collegiate-bound home school athlete, you may want to also join the Homeschool and NCAA Academic Eligibility Facebook group for more conversations about home school student athletes.
