Pinecrest Camp and Retreat Center to Offer Homeschool Hiking Club
Pinecrest Camp and Retreat Center in Moscow, Tennessee will hold a monthly Homeschool Hiking Club for students of all ages starting in March. Hikers will explore and learn about different ecosystems, history, biology, botany, reading the landscape, and more all over Pinecrest.
The hikes, led by Richard, Pinecrest’s favorite biologist, will be up to five miles of on a rugged trail with terrain that could include hills, forests, swamps, and grasslands. Hikers are asked to wear waterproof hiking boots that cover the ankles.
Homeschool Hiking Club will be held on Fridays, March 1, April 12, and May 10, 2024, at 10 a.m. For people hiking for the first time, it is recommended they attend the Family-Friendly Overlook Hike first that will be held on Saturday. March 16, 2024.
The hikes are pay-what-you-can, but a $5 per person donation is recommended. All proceeds benefit the environmental education mission of Pinecrest Camp and Retreat Center. If you have questions and to register, e-mail Charity Siebert.
