Twelve students from the West Tennessee home school community independently submitted artwork for the 29th annual Jackson Symphony League Color of Music contest, which was open to students in Madison County and its surrounding counties (i.e.: Carroll, Chester, Crockett, Gibson, Hardeman, Haywood, Madison, McNairy, and Weakley) only. Students in kindergarten through eighth grade were encouraged to participate in the interpretive art contest, which featured the music of Russian composers Sergei Rachmaninov (Piano Concerto No. 2) and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (Symphony No. 5).
