Shiloh National Military Park to Host Civil War Cannon Firing Demonstration

Shiloh National Military Park is holding a Civil War Cannon Firing Demonstration on Saturday, August 1, 2026. The cannon firing demonstrations will feature a 10-pounder Parrot Rifle and a 6-pounder Field Piece, and recreate a section of a Confederate artillery battery.

The demonstrations will happen at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m., and 3 p.m. Each demonstration will last about 20 minutes with at least two cannon firings.

The free event is one of the many educational programs Shiloh National Military Park { 1055 Pittsburg Landing, Shiloh, Tennessee, 38376 } holds each month for the public.
