Middle Tennessee State University Promise Tour Coming to West Tennessee

Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) is bringing its MTSU Promise Tour to West Tennessee for college (and high school) students to learn more about the opportunities and ease of transferring to the university to continue their education after earning an associate degree.

The MTSU Promise Tour will make stops in the West Tennessee area at Jackson State Community College and Dyersburg State Community College. Prospective students and their parents will be able to ask questions about the school, admissions and transfer processes, and financial aid and scholarship opportunities. MTSU has a guaranteed transfer scholarship of $3,000 per year for qualifying students who apply by the February 15, 2023, deadline.

Although a student may transfer to MTSU from any school, the university currently has “transfer” relationships through its Tennessee Transfer Pathways (TTP) program where a student who follows the pathway at those community colleges will be “on track” taking courses toward a completed major that will transfer to MTSU. MTSU TTP schools are Chattanooga State, Cleveland State Community College, Columbia State Community College, Dyersburg State Community College, Motlow State Community College, Nashville State Community College, Southwest Tennessee Community College, and Volunteer State Community College.

This Promise Tour is a good opportunity for current college students and high school seniors using the Tennessee Promise as they pursue an associate degree. Also, current high school students can benefit from the opportunity to learn more about the varied options for higher education.
