FIELD TRIPS
The 2026/2027 field trip season is in the works and we would love for you to help us plan it. Take a short survey and share your thoughts. The new field trip season kicks off with the annual Homeschool Roster Back-to-Homeschool Splash at Thornton’s Pool. Registration for the new season opens Wednesday, July 1, 2026.

Nature BINGO Hike at Chickasaw State Park { 20 Cabin Lane, Henderson, 38340 } from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
What’s that Pelt? at Chickasaw State Park { 20 Cabin Lane, Henderson, 38340 } from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Shiloh National Military Park { 1055 Pittsburg Landing, Shiloh, 38376 } will host its Memorial Day service in the Shiloh National Cemetery at 11 a.m.
Leaf Printed Butterflies at Chickasaw State Park { 20 Cabin Lane, Henderson, 38340 } from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Show your Tennessee State issued I.D. and get free admission at the National Civil Rights Museum from 3 p.m. – 5 p.m.
TUESDAY, May 26, 2026
Tennessee Tuesday free admission at the Memphis Zoo from 9 am. to 6 p.m. (close of gates). Advanced reservations are required for all guests.
Gaze into the stars for “Out There: The Quest for Extrasolar Worlds”, a free planetarium show at the University of Lambuth M.D. Anderson Planetarium { 299 Maple Street, Jackson, 38301 } at 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
Shelby County Homeschool Sports (SCHS) is offering volleyball training and open gym for elementary school and middle school from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. and for high school from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

WEDNESDAY, May 27, 2026
The Mid-South Ice House { 10705 Ridgeway Industrial Drive, Olive Branch, Mississippi, 38654 } is offering discounted admission for Homeschool Skating from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
It’s Homeschool Day at SOAR Adventure Tower ( 3794 Carothers Parkway, Franklin, 37067 } from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Last Magic Wheels { 1112 U.S. 45 Bypass, Jackson, 38301 } is holding its last Homeschool Skate for the season from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Brown Bag Homeschool Hangout will be held at the Jackson-Madison County Library { 433 E Lafayette St, Jackson, 38301 } from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. for children ages 11 – 19. Come out and enjoy games, crafts, puzzles, socialize. You can even bring your schoolwork.
Church Family Night will be held at Rockabillys Stadium { 4 Fun Place, Jackson, 38305 } with gates opening at 6 p.m. and the first pitch at 7 p.m. Group ticket prices are adults, $5 and youth (ages 12 and under), $3.

The Metal Museum { 374 Metal Museum Drive, Memphis, 38106 } offers free admission to Tennessee residents with a Tennessee state issued photo ID for visitors 18 years of age or older. Visitors under the age of 17 without a state issued photo ID must be accompanied by a current Tennessee resident with a valid photo ID.
The Hardeman County Homeschool Tutorial is holding an information meeting in the Dixie Hills Baptist Church { 75 Dixie Hill Road, Bolivar, 38008 } gym from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Chickasaw State Park { 20 Cabin Lane, Henderson, 38340 } is offering Awesome Atlatl fun on the archery field from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. for children ages 12 and older. The program is free and registration is required.
