Hadley Durham is a student of The Keystone School and has been homeschooled for three years. She enjoyed the freedom home school allowed, so she could pursue her special interests alongside her schoolwork.
BENEFITS: I enjoyed the freedom that came with homeschooling. With this freedom, I was able to explore some of my interests like acting, lifeguarding, teaching, taking theatre classes, and doing many other fun things! It also allowed me to take dual enrollment classes, which helped me to graduate early and get into Berry College – the college of my dreams.
CHALLENGES: One of the biggest challenges I had to face was struggling to understand the schoolwork and focus at times. However, I overcame this by asking for help and finding methods to help keep me focused.
FAVORITE MEMORY: My favorite memory is taking theatre classes and then the production of the play.
TIPS FOR STUDENTS: If you need help, ask for it and don’t overthink about how well you are doing. You are doing great!
TIPS FOR PARENTS: Help your kids when they need it! If they struggle, find ways to motivate them and encourage them to do better
FUTURE: I plan to attend Berry College and figure out my career path.
