Broadway Nights Returns and Auditions are Open
It has been about one year and four months (but who is counting – patiently waiting) since director Thomas Farmer with Star Inc. brought his vision of Broadway Nights to the Fair Theatre stage in Somerville, Tennessee and literally wowed the audience with the production. Thomas’ desire was for the “audience to leave with a smile on their faces” and for the production to “go above and beyond expectations”. He managed to accomplish both as the performance dates were extended at the audience’s request. Farmer returns this season with open auditions for the next production in the series with Broadway Nights: Summer Lovin’.
The cast for this production will include actors ages 12 years old and up at the time of the audition, which is by Sunday, March 17, 2024, as video submissions only are being accepted. It is never a surprise to see several homeschoolers in the productions, on the stage and behind the scenes, that are presented by the Star Inc. theatre company. In the first Broadway Nights production, Thomas, a homeschool graduate himself, had a cast that included several homeschool students, current and graduates.
The auditions are open to all wanting to be a part of what is expected to be another fantastic production. The directors are Thomas and Halle Farmer, and assistant director Jade Lindsey. Note, you do not have to be a homeschool student to audition for Broadway Nights: Summer Lovin’.
AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
- Submit a 60 – 90 second video of you singing any Broadway musical song that is in your vocal range where your face is visible, and no vocal filters are used.
- E-mail the video link to [email protected].
The cast list will be posted on Saturday, March 23, 2024, by 11:59 p.m., on the Star Inc. Facebook page.
REHEARSAL SCHEDULE
April, May, and June – Tuesday and Thursday, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., but not everyone will need to attend all rehearsals. Closer to opening night, Monday and Friday rehearsal days will be added as needed.
PERFORMANCE DATES
Fridays, June 21 and 28, 2024, at 7 p.m.
Saturday, June 22 and 29, 2024, at 7 p.m.
Sunday, June 23 and 30, 2024, at 6 p.m.
VIDEO SUBMISSION DEADLINE
The deadline to submit your audition video is Sunday, March 17, 2024, at 11:59 p.m.
