FIELD TRIPS
We are back at it with field trips this week and are heading to Discovery Park of America during its free admission month. Along with students enjoying free admission, they will be able to participate in an educational program that is full of learning. Check out the other field trips that are happening in the month of January. There is still time to register for many. Also, join the Homeschool Roster – Get Out of the House group to keep up with field trip updates.

Jackson Symphony League Holds Color of Music Art Contest 2023/2024
Each year, kindergarten through eighth grade students across West Tennessee share their artistic talent and creativity producing beautiful artwork for the Jackson Symphony League’s Color of Music art contest. { read to learn how your child can participate }

MONDAY, January 8, 2024
Mid-South Diving is offering a free trial on Monday, January 8, 2024, at the Rhodes College pool for swimmers, preschool through twelfth grade, to learn how to flip, twist, and dive, and more about the upcoming dive class that will be offered. The trial is at 10:30 a.m. Contact [email protected] for more information.
The WTHEA Warriors basketball will play against the Homeschool Eagles on Monday, January 8, 2024, at 6 p.m. at Popular Heights Baptist Church, 1980 Hollywood Drive, Jackson, Tennessee, 38305
TUESDAY, January 9, 2024
Soccer tryouts for boys in eighth through twelfth grade will be held at the Dyersburg Soccer Complex FIELD 3 (weather permitting) on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Boys are expected to be able to run a 10-min mile, able to pass a basic skills test, and commit to being open to playing any position on the field. Please bring soccer ball, cleats, and shin guards to tryouts.
Collierville Classical School is hosting an Informational Meeting to discuss its two-day a week K-12 tutorial that offers an integrated Christian Worldview Perspective. Explore the vision! Get your questions answered! Catch the Excitement! at Central Church – Fellowship Hall (2005 East Winchester Boulevard, Collierville, 38017) at 2:45 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Childcare is available.
WEDNESDAY, January 10, 2024
High Point Memphis Homeschool Day is on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The price is $15 and includes the gear (harness and shoes) and a day pass. Athletic clothing is suggested. Climbers must be able to fit a harness to climb.
The Mid-South Ice House is offering a Homeschool Learn to Skate Program every Wednesday, from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. All ages from three to adult are welcome to attend. After the class, students are invited to stay free for the weekly Homeschool Skate from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

January Community Fun Day! – Snow Much Fun. Children ages six to 12 are invited to HomeLife Tutorial (278 Cooper Anderson Road, Jackson, 38305) for a meal of “spaghetti & snowballs (meatballs)”, snow games and a craft, and story time on Thursday, January 9, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Price is $5 per student. R.S.V.P. and payment due by Tuesday, January 9, 2024.
